Ten Months

Climbing....such a boy.
With Daddy on Fathers Day

Baseball makes him happy!

Eating Momma's black beans!

This is his "Mommy is more than an arms length away from me and not giving me her full attention" face. We see this face multiple times a day. Sigh.

I like this sweet face much better!

Such a big boy, he is starting to look less like a baby and more like a toddler.

Ava has always made him smile and laugh like no body else! Such a special bond.

Tellin secrets.

In just 2 short months the littlest Lightsey will be 1. It's true. Nuts, but true. At 10 months old this boy is seriously on the go! He hasn't started walking but I don't think it will be long. He is cruising the furniture like a pro. Tonight he climbed up on the bench part of the Little Tykes picnic table and stood to reach something on the table top surface....hello, when did my baby become a circus monkey! So at 10 months our little circus monkey...I mean boy is:

  • cruising and pulling to stand on everything

  • can sign milk and more but it's a treat if he actually does it

  • says uh-oh and signed momma 1x

  • still loves to "play ball" and will sit and toss a ball with any one who is willing to catch for him

  • is still a super mommas boy and rarely let me out of his super momma vision

  • stood independently, 2 times, very briefly for the first time tonight

  • loves to play rough with Daddy and Sissy, his favorite is when Ryan lays him on top of Ava's belly....he thinks this is the funniest thing ever

  • dances when he hears music...even when nursing...so silly

  • is over pureed food and wants only table food

  • continues to love waving hi and bye to anyone who will reciprocate...this is a favorite of elderly ladies at the grocery store, adds at least 10 minutes to my trip every time

We are so in love with our Bug, and enjoy watching him learn and grow every day!

Random Ramblings

As a mom, there are countless moments a day when I think to myself "oh I've got to blog about this so I don't forget it" and then I get caught up in mundane tasks of cleaning the floors, unloading the dishwasher, etc. etc. and then in the blink of an eye my work time during nap time is over. And another opportunity to record a special moment has passed. As we approach Grady's 10 month day this week, I have become more aware of how quickly we are running out of mile stones and it makes me oh so sad. Our littlest Lightsey is quickly becoming less of a baby and more of a toddler. His personality is developing, he has "favorites", and he is beginning to use sign language to communicate. I am in awe of his transformation, and trying not to be saddened by the loss of his "babyness" but to be excited about all of the adventures that are to come with our two beautiful dumplings! Being there mommy is such a blessing, and I don't take 1 day (the good, the bad, or the sometimes U-G-L-Y) for granted.

9 Months

Our littlest dumpling is 9 months old now! It has been such an incredible joy to watch him learn and grow and change over the last 9 months. I adore his sweet snuggles, his infectious grin, and the fact that I am the center of his universe. This boy of mine, boy is he a handful, but I wouldn't change it for the world. He has taught me so much about patience and persistence. What a blessing it is to be his momma.

At 9 months Grady is:

  • 17 lbs 12 ounces & 28.5 inches at his well visit

  • pulling up on toys and furniture

  • throwing a mean fast ball, look for him in the MLB one da

  • crawling on his hands and knees about half the time, still falls back to the trusty army crawl when those little knees get sore from the hard laminate floors

  • saying uh-oh

  • feeding himself small pieces of table food

  • loving to eat any and everything we offer him

  • bopping to music

  • very close to clapping his hands

  • waving hi & bye

  • loving rough play with Daddy & Sissy

  • still waking at night (mostly do to teething and wanting to nurse for comfort)

  • has 3 bottom teeth, and his working on 2 top
